CNC machining is the process of machining, cutting, carving or engraving a material using software to guide a cutter. Repeatable operations on wood and metals accurately and cleanly. Working from 3d models or 2d drawings it can produce stunningly creative objects or precise parts for prototyping.

Our CNC has quite a large working bed, 1044mm by 679mm so capable of fairly large projects. We use Vectrics Vcarve pro which send the design to the machine software. We mainly produce items for the arts and crafts area from signs to relief 3d carvings in woods and metals. It can also engrave many other materials.
We have a full Commercial Licence for Solidworks Premium, and we know how to use it!
We are always available for collaboration projects where you create the designs and we machine it, or we can produce 2d and 3d designs for 3d printing with either our large FDM Printer or our high resolution SLA printer.

WE can produce many items for CNC work in house. We use numerous software packages dependant on the work needed. Our specialty is probably creating bespoke 3d models for carving. which can then be mounted or a finished item such as a frame.

Here at Mon3d, the heart of what we do is ‘make’ from CNC carvings , laser engraving and cutting, 3d printing, and everything is our own design, concept and thought are ours, unless you have something you want, that stems from an idea, but need help to create.
Stemming from a degree in ilustration and design with a background in woodturning and woodcarving, we have brought out traditional methods into the digital world.
Were home manugfacturing is now, not an expensive option, and can be a ‘one off’.

What kind of clients do you work with?

We have worked with the National Trust, National Resources Wales, Universities, local councils, Church in Wales and many large and small private organisations.

What is your turn around time?

Turn around time depends largely on the project, but imagery photography and film can be turned around in as little as a day. Some animation work has been done over a period of months. This largely depends on what you need, but we wont cut corners, creativity does take a little time.

What will it cost?

Again this largely depends on the project. Our work is so varied that we try and price up each project separately. If you have a certain budget, then we usually can tailor the work to suite.
